url— fishing has been good for most , using those every special lures sometime and changing seems to work well for most,the serious ones are doing best, moving around seems to still be the answer .Ice conditions are very good 18 to 26 inches thru out south shore . All roads  are in very good shape with some rough spots ,so slow down 10 to 15 MPH is more than fast enough, reason being there is a lot of polished ice under that little snow cover which makes it IMPOSSIBLE  to stop  where you  want.  Be safe. URL–  Red lake ice fishing in close is producing good numbers of eyes. Boy did they have a great time at Alpine Sleeper Houses last nite! Some very happy customers on Red Lake at Alpine. Cory and the others caught large number of eyes along with a muskie! They took pictures and released it. They were very excited. The guys in the 4 & 6 man houses also caught a a large number of perch along with northern pike & a few crappies & walleye. Had a  fish fry out on Red Lake then went back to catching fish. We are in 14 1/2′ of water away from any large crowds which is key. Dead sticking and jigging work well with head of minnow on buck shot.  Red works well.  With the cold weather & wind forecasted I am hoping things don’t change. url–The week end is here-one may ask why does fishing slow down on week-ends??? Even with  everyone is spread way apart this year. The old theory was that you would spook the fish when everyone is in one area.  We are catching fish – just no great numbers,walleye, northerns, pouts, even occasional crappie & sheephead. And yes the pesty perch are biting but are getting bigger and are good to eat. The serious fishermen are catching fish. With the lack of snow  and the cold temps the lake is making ice so you may need extensions next week. Come & fish with us & enjoy.

URL//Another great day of fishing!! All customers reported catching keeper Walleye’s and many thrown back and a couple groups getting their limits. We also have a house off of JR’s Corner fished by Jim Schindler from MPLS that caught quite a few nice Walleye’s. The bait from Trappers in Shooks must be doing the trick. All my customers informed me that lively fatheads, fished a couple inches from the bottom and constant jigging were key to the Walleye frenzy going on here on Big Upper Red Lake.
